2. Role of the director of adult social services (Gateway reference 4133)
The Children's Bill proposes replacing the role of the director of social services with two new statutory posts: director of children's services and director of adult social services. While this development has raised questions about the future role of directors of social services, there will continue to be a major role for senior managers in social services. A letter to directors of social services and other stakeholders from the Director of Care Services and the National Director for Social Care is available. Read the letter >
