New GP Dispensing Fee-Scale: Effective From 1 April 2000 This announces a new GP dispensing fee-scale effective from 1 April 2000. It also introduces separate fee-scales for dispensing and non-dispensing doctors. Health Authorities should forward a copy to the chairperson of their Local Medical Committee. www.doh.gov.uk/pricare/fees.htm 2. Demand Management Advisors Meeting Dr Paul Zollinger-Read has arranged a one day workshop on 12th September 2000 at the Jarvis Grand Hotel, Leicester, for PCG/T involvement in forming a National Learning Set around Demand Management. Government Response To The Recommendations Made In The Chief Medical Officer's Expert Group Report "Stem Cell Research: Medical Progress with Responsibility" The Report provides a clear and detailed assessment of the potential benefits of research across the whole range of possible sources of stem cells, including those derived from human embryos. It also discusses the justification for using embryos created by cell nuclear replacement (the 'therapeutic cloning' technique) for such research and the ethical issues that arise.
