1. Making partnership work for patients, carers and
service users: Gateway reference 1834
Consultation on a proposed strategic partnership agreement between the
Department of Health, the NHS and the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS)
is launched today. The consultation period for the document closes on
20 November 2003.
The draft agreement is aimed at increasing the role of the VCS in NHS
service delivery in order to improve the patient experience, involve patients,
carers and service users as partners and offer them more choice and fairer
access to health care.
